Under Pressure —  Barracuda Porthole Relief

Under Pressure is a dimensional carved relief capturing a barracuda in pursuit, framed through a carved porthole as if you're looking directly into the action beneath the surface. The predator's streamlined form and focused movement give the scene a sense of tension—the kind of moment where the next second could change everything.

Carved from mahogany and individually hand-finished, the sculpture combines precise CNC carving with hands-on finishing to bring depth, texture, and character to the scene. The dimensional relief creates natural shadows across the barracuda and surrounding details, while the porthole framing gives the piece the feeling of looking through an actual window into the underwater world.

the process

Every Fish City relief begins as an original artistic concept, developed specifically as a sculptural work in wood. CNC technology is used as a precision carving tool to translate that design into three-dimensional form.

The machine provides precision. The artistic vision, composition, sculptural decisions, material selection and finishing come from the artist.
